Sinatra, Martin, Davis Jr and then there was Manilow.

BARRY MANILOW
Los Angeles 1975 [no label, 1CD]
Live at The Troubadour, Los Angeles, CA, Feb 25, 1975. Unknown recording but sounds like a stereo soundboard.

This show at The Troubadour was just three weeks away from his fateful meeting with Dick Clark on March 22. Under Clark’s mentoring, Manilow would be a regular at American Bandstand and numerous other Dick Clark productions including American Music Awards and Clark’s New Year shows hosted at Times Square. Manilow’s television profile helped his career considerably.

Manilow’s showmanship is already on display here. He chatted freely and was comfortable with his audience. The songs flowed and Manilow was no slouch, singing pitch-perfect versions of his studio material live.

Although Scooter123 did not say what type of recording this is, it sounds great. Thanks for sharing.
