London 2001 [no label, 1CD]

Live at the London Palladium, October 14, 2001. Very good soundboard.

Nick Lowe might have started his musical career in the late ’60s with Brinsley Schwarz but in the mid-’70s, he teamed up with Dave Edmunds to form Rockpile. Apart from his own recordings, Lowe was also known as a producer at Stiff Records – producing Elvis Costello’s My Aim Is True, This Year’s Model and Armed Forces. For a time in the ’70s, Lowe’s own star probably shone as brightly as the acts he was producing but like musicians such as Marshall Crenshaw and Steve Forbert, Lowe never got the worldwide acclaim and commercial success he should have gotten.
